Sad to break it: Zoolander No. 2 is a pointless sequel

Paramount Pictures

Zoolander No. 2 relies heavily on cameos of well-known personalities, making the story suffer horribly. It seems that the filmmakers do not know what to do with the sequel, a satire to the fashion industry that feels dated as the characters in the story.

There is nothing of value to take away from the movie. I would like to think that I may not be getting the references but I am afraid the movie is indeed a mess. The string of cameos is distracting and feels like they just crammed these celebrities to make a movie.

It may have triggered chuckles here and there but the cinema was entirely quiet. It was as if people were waiting for a winning punchline or a satisfying story.
